Little Lambs

Through a variety of ministries we care for and train children from diapers to discipleship. Teachers and helpers are equipped to effectively teach little ones the basics of Christianity.

Our Little Lambs classes are in the early childhood education wing.  They consist of four classes which are theme based.  Each class has 2-3 teachers.

Cradle Roll (birth – 15 months)

Many manipulatives are used so the class is an experience the child can touch, smell, see, hear, and taste. The units are changed every three months. Many songs are introduced and repeated throughout the sessions. The units of study have been created by teachers of this classroom. It’s desirable to have the same teachers throughout the whole time the child is in the nursery class. A comfortable, secure setting is reassuring to the child and the parent.

Toddler 1 (15 months – 2 1/2 years)

This class uses many manipulatives and songs to teach and reinforce several stories about babies in the Bible. Children’s Bibles are used to allow children to “find” Bible characters in their own Bible. Learning to say “please” and “thank you” is important in this class.

Toddler 2 (2 1/2 – 3 1/2 years)

Children in this class learn that everything good is from God! Families, food, clothes, homes, water, and toys are blessings from Him. They learn the Bible is God’s written Word and it has two parts, the Old and New Testaments. This is the first class where children sit in moveable chairs, so asking permission, following directions, taking turns, and saying “please” and “thank you” are reinforced skills.

Preschool (3 1/2 – 5 years)

The Preschool teachers have created 52 lessons that go through the Bible from beginning to end. They have different activities and learning tools to help children understand what the Bible teaches. Books, songs, crafts, flannelgraph stories, memory verses, and take-home activities involve all the children in fun ways. The take-home activities also teach cutting and gluing skills. The children enjoy getting to “request” their favorite song to sing as class begins.
